okay, i have a 1970 el camino,
my gas tak wont take gas, even when i knwo for sure that my tank is less thank half full, trying to put gas in, it will right away come back over and spill over the filler neck, but the filler neck seems to be in good condition (no breaks, crushes, clogs), does any one have any suggestions on how to solve this or get around it?

Are you certain that your tank is that full/empty? Or are you relying on the gas gauge for that information?
I would drop the tank and investigate further. Or try pumping the gas very slowly into the tank. If it still overflows as soon as you start pumping, drop the tank and pull off your filler neck. There might be an obstruction in there where you can’t see on the outside of the neck. That, or the gas tank might have an issue with venting.
Keep us informed.
Good Luck
